Matting and Framing

MATTING AND FRAMING are also available on all pictures. For framing I am currently using a standard, thin, rounded top, black metal frame (from Neilsen Bainbridge). For matting I use the same museum quality acid free (neutral PH) board that I use for dry mounting (see below). The window of the mat is cut with approximately 3/8" of relief from the edge of the photograph on all 3 sides except the bottom side where the relief is usually about 3/4" from the edge of the picture (allowing you to see the signature and numbering of the series). Framing also includes a single-ply piece of glass.

If you live in the Metro Denver area, I will deliver the pictures to you myself, often at no charge.
These local deliveries include glass mounted in the frame. However, if you are having the pictures shipped, I will not install glass in the frame (please see explanation under the heading SHIPPING below).

Framing and matting on all pictures with an image size of 16" x 20" or less is $50.00 per photograph. (Believe me, it's a deal!) If you are having pictures shipped, please deduct $10.00 from the framing price to cover the cost of the glass. (That makes the framing cost $40.00 per photograph.)

Pictures may also be purchased with a single window matt board. The matt board window will be cut exactly as explained above. For 8" x 10" and 11" x 14" images please add $10.00 to the cost of the picture. For 16" x 20" images please add $15.00 to the cost of the picture.

Framing and matting can often be a very personal thing. I do not offer any custom framing or matting. If you feel passionately about how your pictures are framed, then I suggest you just buy the dry mounted picture and have custom framing and matting done at a shop near your home.

DRY MOUNT BOARDS are acid free (neutral PH) and museum quality. I generally dry mount 8" x 10" and 11" x 14" images onto 16" x 20" boards. My 16" x 20" images are dry mounted onto 24" x 30" boards. If you would like to have your image mounted on a board that is other than specified above, please feel free to contact me. There is often no additional charge, but sometimes it is necessary for me to charge a bit extra for anything that is customized. Many of my customers prefer to have 11" x 14" images dry mounted on a slightly larger board (20" x 24" or 21" x 24"). For this there is no extra charge. However, you must remember to contact me, or I will automatically ship images on standard sized boards as listed above.
